Wyebot sensors have the ability to operate in a wireless backhaul mode, in which they maintain their connection to the Wyebot cloud via a wireless connection to a WiFi SSID. While connecting the sensors via ethernet is recommened for optimal performance, the wireless backhaul connection is useful in cases where an ethernet connection is unavailable.
The sensor must be Active on your Wyebot dashboard to apply this configuration.
- Make sure the SSID you wish to use for backhaul is added and configured on the My SSIDs page. For detailed SSID configuration instructions see this article.

- Once the SSID is configured, navigate to Sensor Config > Network.

- Change the Connection Type to Wireless, and select the SSID you wish to user for backhaul. Click Apply, and the sensor will reboot. At this point, the sensor will be using the selected SSID to connect to the cloud, and therefore can be removed from ethernet and powered via a DC adapter while maintaining a connection to the cloud.
a. If a static IP configuration is required, select the Use the following IP address button and input the IP information manually.
The sensor in wireless backhaul mode will have its active Network Test functionality disabled.
