This article describes the configuration changes required to support web proxies with the Wyebot sensor. Web proxies are used within an IT network to manage their users web traffic, typically by filtering, caching or monitoring. In a standard design (no proxy server) all traffic from the Wyebot sensor will be sent directly to the Internet. In a proxied network, all traffic from a sensor on ports 443 and 80 must be sent to an intermediate device before it reaches the Internet. The intermediate device can be a proxy server. That proxy server is then responsible for sending the traffic to its intended destination.
To enable Proxy Support, you will first need to create a Wired Port Profile with your proxy server configuration.
After the port profile is created, it must be assigned to the sensors you wish to connect via proxy.
