Effective July 1, 2021, school districts will be required by the Student Online Personal Protection Act (SOPPA) to provide additional guarantees that student data is protected when collected by educational technology companies, and that data is used for beneficial purposes only (105 ILCS 85). Note that SOPPA also places new expectations on the Illinois State Board of Education and operators of online services or applications.

The Wyebot Wireless Intelligence Platform collects MAC addresses, usernames and DHCP names from wired and wireless client devices along with statistical information about wireless traffic in the environment. This information is used by the Wyebot system to analyze performance and detect wireless problems. The system does NOT capture payload data including destination websites or network protocols being used. The system does NOT decrypt encrypted wireless traffic.
Wyebot does not sell or share its data with other parties.
