DFS channels are a set of 5GHz channels that are commonly disabled in a default configuration. It is recommended in most circumstances to enable these channels, as the majority of the 5GHz bandwidth is contained within these bands. For more reading, see our article Understanding DFS Channels.

Instructions from Fortigate 60F running firmware 7.0.3
- Navigate to WiFi & Switch Controller > FortiAP Profiles
- Select the profile you wish to edit, then click the Edit button.
- Under Radio 2, use the check boxes to select the channels which will be available to your APs. DFS channels are denoted with an asterisk.
- Click OK at the bottom of the page to apply your changes.
